At Dordt University, the institution, professors, and coaching staff are committed to the holistic development of our student athletes. In our track & field and cross country programs, we believe that the development of young women and men does not occur in one area only. We believe that athletic growth is seen most completely when there is a balance struck between the personal, academic, spiritual, and physical growth of a student.
One question we ask our athletes to think about is, “Who do you want to be in four years?” Our goal as coaches is to partner with and invest in each athlete to achieve their goals, maximize their gifts, and prepare them to be a person that can impact the world after those four years are complete.
Our programs have had sustained individual and team success at the conference and national levels on both men’s and women’s sides. We desire to have athletes that want to pursue individual success and value the success of the team as well. The willingness to prepare, as well as the desire to push and be pushed by teammates to achieve at the highest level for each athlete, are main themes within our programs. We believe the care and experience students receive at Dordt University and as part of the track & field and cross country programs is incredibly rare and something we are excited to offer and be part of.
