Concordia offers student-athletes the opportunity to excel in all events in track and
field/cross-country and in the classroom, in a wide range of academic programs. We are looking
for student-athletes who are hardworking and have a positive attitude. The goal is for every
athlete who comes to Concordia to improve each year, and develop as a person, student, and
athlete. We accomplish this through progressive training and a positive team culture that is
inclusive and supportive. Through this progressive and supportive philosophy, we will achieve
our team goals of conference and national championships. Concordia’s athletics department offers
academic support through tutoring, counseling, and the ability to choose your classes ahead of
the rest of the student body, so you can align your study schedule with your training
schedule.
Our program is closely aligned with the Vainqueurs Plus club, giving us access to facilities,
competitions, and training partners beyond the university group. You can train alongside some
top international-calibre athletes, and renowned coaches (including Olympian Nic Macrozonaris,
our sprint coach). This also means that when you are done your USports eligibility you can
continue to train and compete in a familiar and optimal training environment.
Montreal is a vibrant, international city with many great places to train. Concordia itself is
home to students from 150 different nationalities, and 22% of students are from abroad.
International students from some countries may be eligible for a tuition
fee exemption
Concordia’s track and field/cross-country
history goes
back to the 1920s. Concordia Olympian Kwaku Boteng still holds the RSEQ high jump record. We
hope that you will join us and be part of the next chapter.
