Questions
Yes. Creating a profile, having your performances verified, building a list of schools, and hearing from coaches are free. Plus, recruitment advising and High Performance Mentorship are optional paid services, and Athletics Canada’s code AC10 takes 10% off your first purchase.
Yes. U SPORTS schools give Athletic Financial Awards of up to tuition and compulsory fees, and each school sets its own amounts. Academic and government awards can add to them.
U SPORTS schools compete in cross country and indoor track and field. NCAA schools add an outdoor season, so outdoor events such as the javelin, discus, hammer and steeplechase are part of NCAA competition but not U SPORTS. That often decides the choice for throwers and steeplechasers.
Yes. Canadian athletes are eligible for athletic aid at NCAA Division I and II, NAIA and NJCAA schools on the same terms as American athletes, and most awards are partial. Canadian students register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete in Division I or II.
Grade 10 is a good time to start researching schools where you could fit. NCAA Division I coaches can’t begin recruiting contact until June 15 after Grade 10.
