From the Coach

UBC's cross country team competes in the U SPORTS association. UBC track and field competes in the outdoor season in the NAIA association with year-round access to their own outdoor track.

UBC’s track and field and cross country teams care about success at the university level in both academic and athletic pursuits, but importantly we have high goals of having our best athletes represent their respective nations at the World Championships and Olympic Games. We foster an environment of teamwork and camaraderie, yet we don’t apologize for striving for excellence and ensuring that our targeted athletes have their needs met in order to achieve excellence in our sport. We feel that simultaneously aiming to achieve the highest honours in the classroom and in the sporting world can be congruent objectives and we want our recruits to believe this too.
