From the Coach

At Western, we provide an opportunity for student-athletes to develop as an athlete, a student, and overall as a person. We provide you with what it takes to reach personal and team goals in a positive team environment. As a member of one of the most successful varsity programs in the country, you will gain practical life experience through coaching and leading and officiating at children's meets or track and field days. You'll also work with others to help them reach their goals and to reach common team goals. I believe our student-athletes are involved in the best track and field program in the country.

Trust, respect, and pride our out program's top three values:

  • Trust the process, your coaches, and support staff
  • Respect yourself, your teammates, competitors, and officials
  • Be proud to compete as a Mustang - be proud of your actions both on and off the track/field

You will be fortunate to have: An amazing group of teammates, strong leadership from our captains, committed coaches, an outstanding medical support staff, a sports psychologist, sports nutritionist and academic counsellors that are passionate about bringing out the best in you.

We have an attractive and competitive schedule, the Gord Ford Warm Weather Training Camp in Bermuda, supportive alumni that are well connected to our program today helping with mentoring future Mustangs. Our newly renovated indoor track includes an 8 lane straightaway, 5 lane 200m oval, and areas for all field events.

At Western, you will develop life-long friendships with your teammates. This is a mark of a successful program. Continue the MUSTANG tradition and be PROUD TO BE A MUSTANG!
